Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 Vs SRK's Raees Box Office: How The Telugu Superstar Got Interim Bail For Four Weeks?

Allu Arjun, one of the superstars of the Telugu film industry, has received interim relief as bail for four weeks. In less than 10 days of the record-breaking movie Pushpa 2: The Rule release, Arjun faced a setback when he was taken into custody reportedly on December 13th, by the Hyderabad police.

In a high court hearing, while applying for bail, the popular star's lawyer compared the stampede case that occurred at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad with Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan's Raees which encountered a fatal situation during its release. Amidst this, let's compare Pushpa 2 and Raees box office collections worldwide, and which is the highest grosser among the two?

Allu Arjun Granted Bail:

On Friday, in the Telangana High Court, Arjun received interim bail for reportedly four weeks, after he was allegedly jailed for his visit to a Sandhya theatre during his latest movie Pushpa 2's release on December 5, which led to a stampede, causing one casualty and one serious injury to a mother-son duo.

As per the Live Law report, the court heard arguments for about two hours. Eventually, Justice Juvvadi Sridevi said that the court is inclined to give interim bail, for a limited period, following the Arnab Goswami case. Bonds to be given to the Jail superintendent since the arrest is made.

In the report, Live Law pointed out the arguments of senior counsel S Niranjan Reddy who appeared for the actor. While making his argument, Reddy recalled an incident related to actor SRK who took a train journey to promote his firm Raees. Reddy stated that the Bollywood actor threw clothes at the station, which led to a stampede, and in that scenario, a case was filed however the actor was not criminally liable in the said matter.

Further, making his argument, Reddy said that the deceased woman during the stampede at Sandhya theatre, was found on the ground of the theatre, while Arjun was on the first floor. Reddy argued that not only Arjun but also the Pushpa 2's producer had informed about the actor's visit to the theatre beforehand.

Live Law cited Reddy's quote which said, "Actor was coming, everybody knew, the Police knew." He further argued that here the actor was not even proactively doing anything whereas in SRK's case, the actor threw balls, and crowds jumped to grab them.

Also, mentioning Arnab's case, Reddy said, that in the journalist's case, the court was approached and then the arrest was made. In Arjun's case, Reddy revealed that he approached the court prior to the arrest. Then he said, "SC says when there is no prima facie case, the court can grant interim bail," as reported by Live Law.
