Alpha Box Office Collection Day 2: Alia Bhatt & Sharvari Wagh's Spy Thriller Crosses Rs 21 Crore; Cast, Plot
Yash Raj Films' latest spy thriller Alpha has registered steady growth at the domestic box office over its first two days, crossing the Rs 20 crore mark in India. Although the film witnessed an improvement in collections on Saturday after its opening-day performance, its start has been relatively modest for a title belonging to the blockbuster YRF Spy Universe.
With the weekend still underway, all eyes are now on Sunday's collections, which could determine whether the film manages to build strong momentum in the days ahead.

On the global front, the film had reported a worldwide gross of Rs 17.42 crore after its opening day. Updated overseas figures for the second day are yet to be officially released.
While the weekend growth is a positive sign, trade watchers believe Sunday's performance will play a key role in deciding the film's first weekend total. Big-budget Hindi releases generally rely on strong weekend numbers before weekday collections stabilise.
Alpha, First Female-Led Film in the YRF Spy Universe
Directed by Shiv Rawail, Alpha marks a significant milestone for Yash Raj Films' popular spy franchise as its first female-led action film.
The film features Alia Bhatt and Sharvari in the lead roles, with Bobby Deol playing the principal antagonist and Anil Kapoor appearing as a senior Army officer.
Adding to the excitement for franchise fans, Hrithik Roshan makes a special appearance as Kabir, reprising the spy character introduced in War.
Alpha joins the expanding YRF Spy Universe, which already includes blockbuster titles such as Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, Tiger 3 and the upcoming War 2.
The film is also notable for Sharvari, as it arrives shortly after her previous theatrical release, Main Vaapas Aaunga, which continues its run in cinemas.
Alpha Cast & Story: A Spy Mission Rooted in Family Secrets
The story begins in 1999, when Indian Army officers Vikrant Kaul and Fateh Singh Lakhawat establish a covert combat unit named Alpha. Members of the elite squad are injected with an experimental Alpha Serum, designed to enhance their strength, speed and recovery abilities.
The partnership between the two officers falls apart after Vikrant secretly uses the serum to save his pregnant wife, a decision Fateh believes violates the programme's purpose. Their disagreement triggers a chain of events that tears a family apart.
Vikrant is separated from his newborn daughter and spends years believing she has died.
As time passes, the missing daughter, Sita (played by Alia Bhatt), is raised under Fateh's supervision and grows into a highly trained intelligence operative, unaware of her true identity. Meanwhile, Vikrant's second daughter, Durga (played by Sharvari), grows up in Spain, far removed from the secret programme.
The narrative eventually brings the two sisters together as they investigate the mystery surrounding Operation Odyssey. Their search uncovers long-hidden truths, family betrayals and Fateh's larger mission, leading to a climactic confrontation that determines the future of the Alpha.
