Additionally, cookies, chocolates, ice creams, instant mixes, and packaged drinking water have seen their GST reduced from 18% to just 5%. This significant tax cut aims to benefit consumers by lowering retail prices.
GST Bachat Utsav To Begin Tomorrow
A day ahead of the implementation of revised GST rate cut, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation and congratulated for the implementation of new GST rates.
He called the revised GST rate cut implementation as the beginning of 'GST Bachat Utsav'. The new GST reforms are likely to cut the price of multiple items across segment, whether they are related to grocery, electronic appliances., automobiles, dairy products, or home electronic items.
"On the first day of Navratri, the country is going to take an important and big step for Atmanirbhar Bharat. With the sunrise tomorrow, the next generation GST reforms will come into effect. A 'GST bachat utsav (savings festival)' will begin tomorrow. "You will be able to buy things you like more easily. The poor, middle class, neo middle class, youths, farmers, women, traders and shopkeepers will benefit from this," he said. In this season of festivals, everyone's happiness will increase, Modi said.
