Amul vs Nandini Returns in IPL 2026 as Karnataka Milk Federation Eyes Royal Challengers Bangalore Sponsorship

The iconic Amul vs Nandini rivalry has moved beyond Karnataka's milk booths to the high-stakes arena of Indian Premier League 2026 branding. Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) is reportedly exploring a sponsorship tie-up with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for IPL 2026.

KMF has recently released a tender to appoint an agency with rights from IPL authorities, with plans to cooperate with Nandini's association as an official RCB partner in the dairy products category, reported Moneycontrol, citing officials familiar with the matter. GoodReturns couldn't independently verify the development, and an official confirmation regarding the same is awaited.

KMF is planning to enter into an official partnership with RCB for IPL 2026, and a tender is floated to engage agencies that can get and execute these rights in compliance with IPL, BCCI, and franchise regulations, a senior KMF official told Moneycontrol.

RCB Sponsorship May Boost Nandini's Presence

RCB team has a strong fan following across Karnataka, especially in Bengaluru. The IPL team's sponsorship is likely to benefit Nandini in boosting its presence. Given, the RCB's star player, Virat Kohli's massive popularity in the state and across the country, it will also help in Nandini's expansion in markets like Delhi, Mumbai, and Uttar Pradesh.

Amul Sponsorship In IPL

Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd's Amul brand is a renowned name across the country. Additionally, Amul has a strong presence in terms of sponsorship in the IPL. In the 16th edition of the IPL, Amul had partnered with 9 IPL teams, including Punjab Kings XI, Delhi Daredevils, Rajasthan Royals, Gujarat Titans, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kolkata Knightriders and Lucknow Super Giants.

"Amul has always been associated with Indian Premier League over the last 15 years in various capacities and our partnership with these 9 teams will help spread the message of amul organic products across India. It will create conversations about the importance of having a chemical and pesticide free food habits and Amul's continuous efforts to fulfil this nutrition requirement for the nation," in-charge Managing Director of GCMMF (Amul) Jayen Mehta stated in 2023.

Amul vs Nandini Battle

While Amul enjoys a strong presence across north Indian states, Nandini remains a household name in Karnataka. With Nandini now eyeing an RCB sponsorship, it will be interesting to see which brand ultimately clinches the IPL 2026 branding battle around the Bengaluru-based franchise.
