Mahindra's Reflective Response

In his response, Mahindra acknowledged the issues raised and stated, "We have a long way to go." He urged people to consider the progress made since he joined the company in 1991, when India's economy had just opened up. At that time, a global consulting firm advised Mahindra to exit the car business due to anticipated foreign competition.

Despite such advice, Mahindra highlighted that three decades later, the company remains competitive. He noted that cynicism and scepticism have been used as motivation. "We have used all the surrounding cynicism, scepticism and even rudeness, as in your post -- to fuel our hunger to succeed," he said.

Commitment to Improvement

Mahindra emphasised that there is still much work ahead. "Yes, we have miles to go before we sleep," he wrote. He stressed that complacency has no place in their journey and that continuous improvement remains their focus. He thanked critics for keeping their drive alive.

Harsh Goenka, Chairman of RPG Enterprises, praised Mahindra's handling of the situation. Goenka described it as a "Masterclass in reacting to an irate customer." The original critic later clarified that they were not a current customer but had cancelled a booking after deciding Mahindra vehicles did not meet their needs.

The user admitted admiration for Anand Mahindra and expressed interest in purchasing a vehicle once it met their standards. Mahindra's post received significant attention online, with over 18 lakh views and more than 2,500 replies.

Mahindra's approach highlights the importance of using feedback constructively. By acknowledging criticism and focusing on improvement, he demonstrates leadership in addressing challenges while maintaining customer engagement.
