Andhra Pradesh investment approvals include Reliance Industries AI data centre in Visakhapatnam
The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet approved investment proposals worth Rs 1.42 lakh crore across industries to support jobs and industrial growth. Key clearances include nearly 855 acres for Reliance Industries Limited to build a giga-scale AI data centre with a cable landing station in Visakhapatnam, plus incentives for Apollo Tyres Limited’s Chittoor expansion.
The Andhra Pradesh cabinet cleared investment proposals worth Rs 1.42 lakh crore on Thursday. The approvals covered industry, clean energy, IT, food processing and infrastructure. The 49th cabinet meeting took place at the Secretariat under Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. State Information and Public Relations Minister K Parthasarathi shared the decisions at a press conference.

A major decision involved Reliance Industries Limited’s AI data centre plan in Visakhapatnam district. The cabinet approved allotment of nearly 855 acres for the project. The site spans Polipalli, Bhogapuram East and Bhogapuram West villages. The plan also includes a cable landing station. The investment is over Rs 1.08 lakh crore.
Andhra Pradesh cabinet investment approvals: Reliance, Apollo Tyres and Royal Enfield
The Reliance AI data centre is expected to create around 1,000 direct jobs. Indirect employment is also projected in construction, manufacturing and IT services. The cabinet also backed Apollo Tyres Limited incentives for Phase-IV expansion at Varadaiahpalem in Chittoor district. That project involves Rs 6,100 crore and jobs for around 1,000 people.
Royal Enfield, through Eicher Motors Limited, received approval for a greenfield motorcycle plant. The facility is planned in Tirupati district. The investment is Rs 2,508 crore, with 3,000 jobs expected. Carrier Airconditioning and Refrigeration Limited also got approval at Sri City in Tirupati district. The unit plans Rs 863 crore and 721 jobs.
Andhra Pradesh cabinet investment approvals: manufacturing and food projects
International Food and Fragrance India Private Limited gained clearance for a greenfield enzyme unit. It will come up at Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited IFFCO Kisan SEZ in Nellore district. The investment is over Rs 3,150 crore. The expected employment is 172 people. Sneha Farms Private Limited also received incentive extension for farms and a hatchery.
Sneha Farms will set up four broiler breeder farms and one hatchery. The locations are in Anantapur and Annamayya districts. The investment is Rs 277.94 crore and 435 jobs are expected. In Kurnool district, Gridon Energy Private Limited received 47.6 acres at Orvakal Mega Industrial Hub. The plan is a 3 gigawatt GW solar cell and module unit.
Gridon Energy’s project involves Rs 3,149.5 crore and 320 jobs. Chettinad Cement Corporation Private Limited also received approval for an expansion in Palnadu district. The plan includes an integrated cement plant and waste heat-based power generation. The investment is Rs 1,340 crore. The expected employment is 360 people.
Andhra Pradesh cabinet investment approvals: clean energy under AP Integrated Clean Energy Policy-2024
In clean energy, the cabinet approved Reliance Industries Limited’s solar and storage proposal in Sri Sathya Sai district. The plan is for 6,600 megawatt MW AC / 9,000 megawatt peak MWp DC solar. It also includes a 29,000 Megawatt-hour MWh Battery Energy Storage System BESS. The project is under the AP Integrated Clean Energy Policy-2024.
The first phase includes 1,600 MW AC / 2,000 MWp DC and 7 GWh storage. The cabinet approved leasing of government land patches between private lands. The lease rate is Rs 31,000 per acre each year. The amount rises by five per cent every two years. The cabinet also cleared Adani Hydro Energy Eleven Limited’s 2,250 MW Gandikota-2 pumped storage project.
The Gandikota-2 project is planned in YSR Kadapa district under policy provisions. The cabinet also approved solar, green hydrogen and green ammonia projects. These projects span Nandyal, Anantapur and Tirupati districts. Several private companies are involved. Compressed biogas projects were also approved across Vijayanagaram, Tirupati, NTR, Palnadu, Eluru, East Godavari and SPSR Nellore districts.
Andhra Pradesh cabinet investment approvals: R&D, airport PPP and MSME financing
The cabinet approved a special R&D facility by Naval Science and Technological Laboratory NSTL. It will be set up at Amaravati Quantum Valley. The work is under the AP Quantum Computing Policy 2025-30. It will support naval applications and hybrid quantum-classical computing research. The government also approved a draft Request for Proposal RFP for Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy Airport.
The RFP is for choosing a concessionaire under Public-Private Partnership PPP mode. The scope covers operation, management and development of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy Airport in Kurnool district. The cabinet also approved the creation of Andhra Pradesh SME Exchange APSMEX. It aims to improve equity access and alternate funding for MSMEs.
A state-level task force will be formed for APSMEX, as approved by the cabinet. Other clearances included government land for industrial parks and waste-to-energy projects. The cabinet also approved hydrological research facilities. Amendments were cleared to industrial agreements involving Skyroot Aerospace and Ethereal Exploration Guild. The cabinet also sanctioned Rs 790.3 crore for Madakasira branch canal expansion works.
The cabinet also cleared irrigation improvement works for 2026-27. The plan covers 6,502 canal strengthening and improvement works. The outlay is over Rs 397.5 crore. Officials said the aim is better water management across irrigation systems in Andhra Pradesh. The approvals added to the wider set of investment and infrastructure decisions cleared on Thursday.
