AI collaboration talks: Nara Lokesh meets Sberbank SVP Albert Yefimov in Moscow

Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education, IT and Electronics Nara Lokesh met Sberbank Senior Vice President Albert Yefimov in Moscow to discuss potential collaboration in AI, quantum computing and digital innovation. Talks covered generative AI, digital public infrastructure, cybersecurity, fintech, workforce skilling and technology use in public services, including Sberbank’s GigaChat model.

The talks looked at possible partnerships in AI, quantum computing, digital innovation and related fields. The meeting was linked to the state government’s push to form global technology ties and learn from overseas technology systems.

The discussions also helped Andhra Pradesh review Russia’s work in sovereign artificial intelligence and advanced digital platforms. The two sides spoke about technology-led innovation and newer computing approaches. Officials said the interaction offered a closer look at how large institutions in Russia are using digital tools in public and commercial services.

Lokesh and Yefimov covered areas such as generative AI, digital public infrastructure, cybersecurity and fintech. They also discussed workforce skilling and technology use in public services. Sberbank representatives outlined the bank’s technology ecosystem, including its GigaChat large language model, AI research work and digital solutions used in banking.

Lokesh spoke about Andhra Pradesh’s aim to become a leading AI and technology hub. Lokesh showed interest in areas where global best practices could support the state’s digital transformation plans. The talks examined where new tools, platforms and secure systems could fit into public sector delivery and state-led programmes.

AI in healthcare and digital innovation

The meeting also focused on AI use in healthcare services. The two sides discussed early disease detection, diagnostics and medical research. They reviewed AI support for hospital operations and citizen-facing health services. The talks included how AI-driven tools could raise access and improve health outcomes at scale.

Workforce skilling and digital innovation

Technology education and workforce development were also discussed in detail. Lokesh and Yefimov exchanged views on coding education models and AI skills training. They also discussed industry-oriented programmes that prepare young professionals for the digital economy. The focus stayed on practical training paths and job-linked learning models.

India-Russia economic links and digital innovation

The talks touched on wider India-Russia economic engagement linked to technology. The two sides discussed business linkages, support for exporters and ways to improve cross-border trade systems. Yefimov shared details on Sberbank’s operations in India and its ongoing work with Indian businesses and institutions.

Both sides agreed to stay connected and review options as new opportunities arise, officials said. The meeting was part of Andhra Pradesh’s outreach during Lokesh’s Russia visit. The visit included engagement with global technology leaders, research institutions and industry stakeholders across emerging sectors.
