Apollo Hospitals Elevates Madhu Sasidhar to President and CEO of Hospital Division

In a significant leadership transition within the healthcare sector, Apollo Hospitals has announced the appointment of Dr. Madhu Sasidhar as the new President and Chief Executive Officer of its hospital division. This strategic move, effective from March 19, sees Dr. Sasidhar stepping up from his role as Chief Strategy Officer, a position he has held since October 2023. He takes over the reins from Dr. K Hari Prasad, who retires after a commendable 27-year tenure with Apollo.

Dr. Sasidhar's medical credentials are impressive, with US Board certifications in internal medicine. His academic contributions include numerous book chapters and journal articles, highlighting his expertise and thought leadership in the medical field. His educational journey boasts of an illustrious start at JIPMER, Puducherry, followed by advanced training in Internal Medicine at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital, New York. Further honing his skills, he completed fellowships in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Yale University, USA.

Apollo Hospitals Group founder-Chairman Dr. Prathap Chandra Reddy expressed his enthusiasm about Dr. Sasidhar's elevation to the top post. Dr. Reddy also extended his gratitude towards the outgoing President, Dr. K Hari Prasad, for his long-standing service and contributions to Apollo's success over nearly three decades.
