Apple Supplier Foxconn Increases Investment Proposal To By $400 To $550 Million In Telangana

Foxconn, a Taiwanese company, recently announced plans to "increase another $400 million" to their investment in India. In order to produce AirPods and other electronic accessories, Apple's top supplier is likely to employ its planned Kongarkalan plant. In May of this year, as part of its USD 500 million investment in Karnataka, the company laid the foundation for a new electronics manufacturing facility.

"...FIT Singapore's proposal to make a capital injection of US$ 400,000,000 to Chang Yi Interconnect Technology (India) Private Limited, which is held by FIT Singapore as to 99.99 per cent of the capital stock," FIT Hon Teng informed the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on Friday.

Telangana's Minister for IT and Industries, KT Rama Rao, tweeted, "Our friendship with Foxconn Group remains steadfast, each of us delivering on mutual commitments With total infusement of $550m (adding previous $150m), FIT is poised to deliver on its promises in Telangana This once again proves Telangana Speed,"

According to a recent press release, the proposed electronics manufacturing facility, which is close to Kongara Kalan, is an important milestone in the Taiwanese company's global expansion strategy to diversify its manufacturing base globally. The building will act as the focal point for Foxconn Interconnect Technology's operations in Telangana, allowing the business to increase its production capacity.
