April-September Fiscal Deficit Widens To 92.6% Of Budgeted Target

Fiscal Deficit For the first half of FY20 i.e. April to September period, fiscal deficit of the country came in at Rs. 6.52 trillion or 92.6% of the budgeted target, government data revealed on Thursday.

 

The fiscal deficit target for the current financial year had been fixed at 3.3% of GDP.

Net tax receipts for the six months were Rs. 6.07 trillion while the non-tax collection stood at Rs. 2.09 trillion during the same period. The data further revealed that the overall expenditure during the period was Rs. 14.89 trillion.

For the same period the revenue deficit was recorded at 4.85 lakh crore.
