South East Asian Market Expansion

The company has been preparing to enter four different markets in South East Asia. While they have started operations in the Philippines, plans for Malaysia faced delays due to sudden regulatory changes. Agarwal explained that they are working on overcoming these hurdles to launch their products soon.

Middle Eastern Market Performance

Executive Chairman Dheeraj Hinduja highlighted the strong performance of Middle Eastern markets despite economic challenges in Bangladesh. He noted that Ashok Leyland has expanded its product range there, which should contribute to a successful year for international operations. "We expanded our range of products in Middle Eastern markets," Hinduja said.

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) market has been particularly successful for Ashok Leyland, according to Agarwal. He added that their products have been well-received in these regions. The company plans to introduce new products in the GCC over the next 12 months, further strengthening its position.

Financial Performance and Export Growth

For the quarter ending September 30, 2024, Ashok Leyland reported a profit of Rs 766.55 crore, up from Rs 569.31 crore in the same period last year. The total income for this quarter was Rs 11,261.84 crore, slightly lower than Rs 11,463.03 crore from the previous year. The company also saw a 14% increase in export volumes, selling 3,310 units during this period.

Ashok Leyland's strategic focus on expanding into new markets and enhancing product offerings is expected to drive growth in international operations. By targeting key regions like South East Asia and the Middle East, the company aims to strengthen its global footprint and achieve significant business milestones this year.
