Asian Markets React Positively To Tuesday's US Inflation Data; Australian Markets Hit 13-Month High

In India, equity markets are closed for Dr. BR Ambedkar Jayanti. But elsewhere Asian markets too respite from the inflation data released in the US, pointing that the prices are not rising as aggressively.

Thus in effect, Australian stock market hit a 13-month high today owing to gains in gold as well as technology stocks. Also, New-Zealand markets climbed to two-month high after the central bank maintained interest rates at a record low.

"It would have taken a much higher CPI print to shake market confidence and the momentum of the U.S. recovery, with the worst is over... buy everything momentum seemingly achieving escape velocity," said Jeffrey Halley, senior market analyst, Asia Pacific, at OANDA.

Also, at the time of writing this copy, European markets were mixed, with FTSE and CAC up, while DAX was down marginally.
