Ather Energy Q2 Results: Net Profit at Rs 1.26 Crore, Revenue Rises 62.8%

The rally followed a substantial improvement in Ather Energy's financial performance for the quarter. The company reported a net profit of Rs 1.26 crore, compared with a net loss of Rs 154 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Revenue increased 62.8% year-on-year to Rs 1,464 crore from Rs 899 crore, supported by higher sales volumes and an expanding business base.

Ather Energy's latest quarterly numbers indicate a sharp improvement in both revenue generation and profitability. The company sold 93,000 units during the quarter, marking a 42% year-on-year increase in volumes. The growth in deliveries helped lift revenue and improve the absorption of fixed costs associated with manufacturing, technology development, distribution and after-sales operations.

For electric two-wheeler manufacturers, higher volumes can play an important role in improving operating leverage. As production and sales increase, companies have an opportunity to distribute fixed expenses across a larger number of vehicles, potentially supporting margins if costs remain under control. Ather's latest results suggest that rising volumes and revenue are beginning to translate into better operating performance.

The company's move from a substantial year-ago loss to a marginal quarterly profit is particularly notable in a sector where manufacturers continue to invest in product development, charging infrastructure, retail expansion and customer service.

However, sustaining the turnaround will depend on whether Ather can maintain sales momentum while managing expenses and competing effectively on pricing, range, performance and ownership costs.
