As per Sacnilk data, by end of December 26th, Avatar 3 has recorded a box office collection of Rs 117 crore in India. A report by Sacnilk also said that Avatar: Fire & Ash has become the highest-grossing Hollywood movie of 2025 in the country in flat one week. Earlier, the maverick filmmaker topped the Hollywood charts in India in 2022 with Avatar: Way of Water, which grossed nearly 500 crore.

The report further highlighted that the third instalment in Cameron's sci-fi epic Avatar franchise grossed approximately 116.50 crores till Wednesday (6 days), and is well-placed to fetch 15+ crores gross on day 7. If this happens, the movie will close the first week at 131+ crores. Due to this, it will cross F1 Movie's 129 crores gross total to become the biggest foreign film of the year in India.

Avatar 4 & Avatar 5 Release Date:

The Oscar-winning director has revealed to Entertainment Weekly that he will likely hold a press conference for Avatar 4 and Avatar 5 if the Avatar franchise ends with the third instalment. He hinted that the release of 4th and 5th instalment depends upon the financial success of Avatar: Fire & Ash.

He told EW, "I don't know if the saga goes beyond this point. I hope it does," adding, "But, you know, we prove that business case every time we go out... If we don't get to make 4 and 5, for whatever reason, I'll hold a press conference and I'll tell you what we were gonna do. How's that?"

Some reports suggested that the 4th instalment could come around December 2029.

The first part of Avatar franchise was released in 2009 and it broke every record in the cinema world. The movie emerged to become the highest grosser worldwide, fastest to hit $1 billion mark and also setting the record of highest grosser in 3D. Avatar recorded a box office collection of $2.789 billion worldwide, dethroning Titanic's collection of $1.84 billion. However, the movie was surpassed by Avengers Endgame who earned $2.797 billion. Currently, Avatar is the second highest grosser worldwide.

But its sequel, Avatar : The Way of Water which was launched on big screens in 2022, also did not stay behind in taking the multiplexes by the storm. The Way of Water earned $2.320 billion worldwide, making it the highest grosser of 2022 and post-Covid era.
