Avengers: Endgame Encore Day 1 Box Office: Marvel Re-Release Opens To Rs. 7.25 Crore Net In India

Avengers: Endgame Encore has made a strong return to Indian cinemas, with the Marvel blockbuster recording an estimated Rs. 7.25 crore net collection on Day 1, according to Sacnilk. The re-release, which hit theatres on September 25, was screened across 3,635 shows on its opening day.

The film's estimated India gross collection stood at Rs. 8.68 crore on Day 1. The film's opening-day occupancy was reported at 32.2% by Sacnilk.

English Version Drives A Large Share Of Collections

The English version accounts for the larger share of box office collection with the movie and it is also being released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
The English 3D version in markets such as Chennai and Hyderabad, while Bengaluru also recorded stronger numbers in premium formats.

Why Avengers: Endgame Is Back In Theatres

Avengers: Endgame, originally released in 2019, has returned to cinemas as Avengers: Endgame Encore ahead of Marvel's upcoming Avengers: Doomsday.

The special theatrical presentation gives audiences another opportunity to watch the blockbuster on the big screen and includes additional material designed to build anticipation for the next Avengers film. Sacnilk lists the re-release across English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, with multiple premium formats including 3D, IMAX and 4DX.

The re-release was already generating significant interest before opening. Moneycontrol reported that weekend advance bookings had crossed the ₹6-8 crore range, while exhibitors had planned thousands of shows across the PVR INOX network.

Global Box Office Gets A Strong Start

The re-release has also generated considerable interest in the US. Avengers: Endgame Encore collected $3.8 million from Thursday previews ahead of its wide release, according to TheWrap. The publication reported that the film was projected to generate around 25million-28 million over its opening weekend, with the possibility of a higher total depending on walk-in business.

Variety also reported the $3.8 million preview figure, putting the returning Marvel blockbuster ahead of several other new releases during the preview period.
