As the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony at Ayodhya scheduled for Monday, January 22 approaches, authorities have rolled out a sophisticated security apparatus, leveraging advanced technology to ensure the safety of the sacred event and the devotees in attendance.
A comprehensive security setup has been established, featuring high-tech gadgets such as AI-based Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras, X-ray luggage scanners, and the Under Vehicle Scanning System (UVSS). Adding an extra layer of protection, the deployment of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams, trained in handling various emergencies.

Ayodhya has embraced technological advancements, installing 10,000 CCTV cameras, some incorporating AI-based technology for enhanced surveillance. Additionally, plain-clothed multilingual police officers have undergone training in soft skills.
The security measures extend to the Saryu River, flowing through Ayodhya, with power boats, NDRF, and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams, along with local boatmen, reinforcing security along the waterway. Stringent checks at international and inter-state borders are ongoing, and drones will be employed for crowd control and to manage excess crowds. Anti-drone technology will also be utilized at the venue to maintain the integrity of security arrangements.
Ayodhya has deployed 11 high-tech devices, including X-ray luggage scanners and the UVSS. Provided by Vehant Technologies, these machines can detect prohibited items and concealed weapons. Vehant Technologies noted that these machines have also been deployed at three recently opened airports.
The UVSS technology is crucial in identifying vehicles carrying hidden explosives, weapons, or hazardous materials. The KritiScan 100100 H X-ray baggage scanner, designed for high-security environments, delivers real-time X-ray images to accurately identify forbidden objects.
The NDRF, a key component of the security arrangements, has stationed multiple teams and hazardous material (HAZMAT) vehicles in Ayodhya. Acquired during the recent G20 summit in Delhi, these vehicles enhance the force's capability for effective disaster response. The presence of the commanding officer and experts from the battalion based in Varanasi further underscores the seriousness of the security preparations.
Equipped to respond to chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear attacks, as well as various disasters like earthquakes and drowning incidents, the NDRF teams in Ayodhya are working in close coordination with central security, intelligence agencies, and state authorities.
As the countdown to the historic ceremony continues, Ayodhya stands fortified, not just by physical barriers, but by the seamless integration of technology and expertly trained personnel.
