Azim Premji Scholarship 2026: Rs. 30,000 Per Year for Girl Students; Check Eligibility, Dates and How To Apply

The Azim Premji Foundation has now begun taking applications for its Azim Premji Scholarship for the session 2026-27. This program offers financial support to female students from marginalised backgrounds who want to pursue higher education but do not have the means to do so.

In this scholarship programme, all the eligible students will get Rs. 30,000 every year for the full duration of their first undergraduate degree or diploma course, subject to the applicable annual renewal conditions.

Azim Premji Scholarship 2026: Application Dates & More Details

Eligible students can apply for the Azim Premji Scholarship 2026-27 between August 10 and August 31st.

Applicants who were shortlisted in Round 1, which was held in September 2025, and Round 2, which was held in January 2026, can also log in to the scholarship portal to check their application status and disbursal updates.

The total amount received by students during this time is Rs. 90,000. So, for example, a student pursuing a three-year undergraduate degree could receive a total of Rs. 90,000 over three years, provided the scholarship is renewed each year and the student continues to meet the applicable conditions.

The scholarship therefore aims to provide sustained financial assistance rather than a one-time payment.

Who Can Apply for Azim Premji Scholarship 2026?

The scholarship is mainly for female students who meet the prescribed academic and educational criteria.

To be eligible, applicants must have:

Completed Class 10 and Class 12 from a government or government-aided school.

Secured admission to the first year of an undergraduate degree or diploma course for the 2026-27 academic session.

Taken admission in a recognised government or private college/university.

Enrolled in a course with a duration of 2 to 5 years.

Belonged to one of the states or Union Territories covered under the scholarship programme.

Students who have been admitted to Azim Premji University are not eligible for this scholarship.

States Covered Under Azim Premji Scholarship 2026

The scholarship programme has expanded to 18 states and one Union Territory in 2025-26 since its launch. It was initially introduced as a pilot programme in 100 districts across Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand during 2024-25.

Others included states such as Karnataka, Telangana, Odisha, Bihar, Assam, Uttarakhand, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura.

For the 2026-27 cohort, the programme has been further expanded to include Andhra Pradesh and Delhi (NCT).

So all the eligible girl students in Karnataka can also apply for the scholarship.

Documents Required for Azim Premji Scholarship

Students should keep the required documents ready before beginning the application process.
Applicants need to upload colour scanned copies of their original Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets.

Eligible students can apply online through the official Azim Premji Foundation scholarship portal by following the steps mentioned below:

Step 3: Click on New Registration: 2026 Cohort on the screen
Step 4: Check all the details and confirm your eligibility.
Step 5: You then have to verify your mobile number using the OTP sent to your registered number.
Step 6: Fill in the required details in the application form.
Step 7: Upload the required scanned documents.
Step 8: Properly review the information entered in the application.
Step 9: Finally, you can submit the scholarship application.
