Bajaj Group Pledges Rs 5,000 Crore for CSR Initiatives Over Next Five Years

Pune, Mar 22 - In a significant move towards enhancing social impact, the Bajaj Group has announced a substantial commitment of Rs 5,000 crore towards its corporate social responsibility (CSR) and charitable activities over the next five years. This initiative, branded as Bajaj Beyond, aims to focus on skill development, promising to benefit over two crore youth across India. The initiative is set to prepare them for the burgeoning employment and entrepreneurial opportunities in the country's expanding economy.

Bajajs Rs 5,000 Cr CSR Commitment

The Bajaj Family's tradition of integrating social responsibility into their business and philanthropic efforts has been evident through generations. Over the past decade, the group has allocated nearly Rs 4,000 crore to various CSR initiatives. These initiatives have spanned across critical areas such as education, health, livelihood, and water conservation. "Our humanitarian efforts are channeled through several institutions including the Jamnalal Bajaj Foundation and the Kamalnayan Bajaj Hospital, aiming to uplift and empower communities," stated Niraj Bajaj, Chairman of Bajaj Auto.

Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director of Bajaj Auto, highlighted the launch of the Bajaj Engineering Skills Training (BEST) last year as a pivotal learning experience. It underscored the significant gap between theoretical education and practical skills required in the manufacturing industry. "With Bajaj Beyond, we plan to broaden our skilling efforts across the group," he added.

Rajiv Bajaj also emphasized that real change goes beyond mere slogans. "Actual change requires skills to put words into action," he remarked, critiquing common slogans that often dominate discourse without leading to tangible outcomes.

Strengthening India's Skilling Ecosystem

Sanjiv Bajaj, Chairman & Managing Director of Bajaj Finserv, spoke about the central role of skilling in the group's social impact initiatives. "Our Certificate Programme in Banking, Finance and Insurance (CPBFI) is designed to prepare youth for employment in the rapidly growing financial services sector," he said. This sector is currently experiencing a talent shortage, and through initiatives like Bajaj Beyond, Bajaj Finserv aims to address this gap by enhancing India's skilling ecosystem.

The commitment by Bajaj Group through Bajaj Beyond represents a significant investment in India's future workforce. By focusing on skill development and education, the group is not only preparing individuals for immediate employment opportunities but is also contributing to the broader economic prosperity of the country. This initiative underscores the critical role of corporate entities in supporting sustainable development and social welfare.
