Bengaluru weather turned stormy as heavy rainfall lashed large parts of the city late on June 12, with areas including Agara, Marathahalli, koramangla, Hebbal, and neighbourhoods across both north and south Bengaluru.

On Saturday morning, many residents woke up to waterlogged streets and overflowing drains. Continuing its trend from last night, Bengaluru weather today is expected to be no different. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) and Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) have issued warnings across the state as the southwest monsoon has covered the whole of Karnataka.

The city is experiencing cool & wet conditions this morning as current temperature stands at 20°C with humidity at a high 94%, and the day is expected to peak at 28°C. Conditions remain cloudy with thunder and lightning likely through the day, with light to moderate rain and heavy rain at isolated places across Bengaluru. Waterlogging, traffic issues can be seen in low-lying areas.

IMD Warning: Karnataka Sub-Division Alerts for June 13

IMD's sub-division-wise warnings issued on June 12 show that Coastal Karnataka weather is under a heavy rain and strong surface winds alert today, while North Interior Karnataka weather is facing heavy rain along with thunderstorms, lightning, and squall conditions.

South Interior Karnataka, including Bengaluru, is also under a heavy rain and strong surface winds warning issued by IMD

Coastal Karnataka saw the most intense rainfall in the past 24 hours, with Hassan's Channarayapatna Santeshivara recording the highest at 76.5 mm, followed by Udupi Karkala Kuchluru at 68 mm and Udupi Kundapur Madanakki at 65.5 mm.

In Bengaluru's extended region, Karahalli in Devanahalli taluk recorded 91 mm and Doddurukarapanahalli in Bangarpet taluk recorded 90 mm on the evening of June 12.

Doni River at Talikot Above Warning Level

The river Doni at Talikot in Vijayapura district is currently flowing above the warning level as of June 12, 2026. Residents in low-lying areas near rivers across Karnataka are advised to remain alert.

Karnataka Weather 7-Day Outlook

Heavy rain and strong winds will continue across coastal and interior Karnataka through June 15. Rainfall activity is expected to reduce from June 16 onwards, with no major warnings currently in place for June 16-18 across all three sub-divisions.
