Bangalore Park To Be Renamed in Honour of Pahalgam Terror Attack Victim Techie Bharath Bhushan

Bengaluru's Sundar Nagar Park may soon be renamed as "Bharath Bhushan Park" in honor of the Bengaluru techie who was tragically killed in the Pahalgam attack in Jammu and Kashmir. Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) MLA Munirathna proposed the renaming to pay tribute to Bharath Bhushan, who was shot dead in front of his wife and kid.

According to an article in The Indian Express, the MLA stated that he has proposed renaming Sundar Nagar Park in honour of Bharath Bhushan. A flex banner with the new name and pictures of MLA Munirathna and MP Dr. C N Manjunath has already been installed at the park's auditorium. The banner unofficially acknowledges the park's new name, "Bharath Bhushan Park."

The incident shocked the Bangalore city. Visitors, including local leaders, paid their respects at his last rites. BJP MLA Munirathna, paid the final respects on Thursday morning. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, and other dignitaries paid their tribute during the funeral day. "After Pulwama, such an incident happened. Maybe, the attack took place due to intelligence failure," CM said

41-years-old Bharath was on a vacation with his family in Kashmir when the attack occurred. His wife, who witnessed the incident, said the assailants shot him after he identified himself as "Bharath Bhushan."

Bharath's elder brother, Channaveerappa, shared that the deceased had been concerned about the health of their ailing mother. He had been looking for the best healthcare options for her, as she had been struggling with heart issues. "Bharath and his wife just wanted to relax and get some free time as they work long hours at both their jobs," said Channaveerappa.

Bhushan's brother informed Leader of the Opposition R Ashok during the final rites ceremony that the dead was worried about his mother's health. "His mother's health is deteriorating and she was admitted to the hospital recently due to a cardiac condition. She was on oxygen support. She came to know about Bhushan's death only on Thursday morning. She is very sensitive and cannot take any bad news," Bharat's brother added.
