Bangalore Traffic Advisory Ahead of TCS World 10K Marathon 2026; Check Alternative Routes,& No Parking Zones
The Tata Consultancy Services is going to host its iconic TCS World 10K Bengaluru Marathon 2026, one of India's most popular road races, on Sunday, April 26. The annual 10-km run in Bengaluru saw registrations open on February 13 and close on March 3 this year.

Ahead of the event, the Bengaluru Traffic Police has issued a detailed traffic advisory, as over 30,000 participants are expected to take part. Several key roads across central Bengaluru will face traffic restrictions, diversions, and no-parking rules between 5:00 AM and 11:00 AM. The marathon will begin and conclude at RSAOI Ground, covering major routes including Cubbon Road, Kamaraj Road, Queens Road, and Raj Bhavan Road.
Bengaluru Traffic Restrictions
As per the advisory issued by the Bengaluru traffic police, no vehicles will be allowed towards Vidhana Soudha, and multiple key roads will be temporarily closed. Major affected routes include:
- Cubbon Road (CTO Junction to Manipal Centre)
- Kamaraj Road (Cubbon Road to Dickenson Junction)
- St. John's Road (Dickenson Road to Veerapillai Street)
- Dickenson Road (Dhobi Ghat Junction stretch)
- Gangadhar Chetty Road (multiple junctions)
- Union Street, Lady Curzon Road, Bhaskaran Road
- Halasuru Road to Begum Mahal Junction
Traffic movement will also be restricted from areas like Cox Town, Sindhi Colony, Haj Camp, and Naga Junction,
Additionally the advisory also mentioned that heavy vehicles will face additional restrictions like Diversion via NGF Junction, Suranjan Das Road, and Old Airport Road. No entry near Central Street towards Safina Plaza. It is also Mandatory to reroute towards Shivajinagar
Alternative Routes for Bengaluru Traffic Diversion
To manage congestion, authorities have suggested multiple alternative routes in Bengaluru today:
- Vehicles from Queens Road towards Vidhana Soudha will be diverted via Cunningham Road and Palace Road
- Traffic from Majestic and KR Market will move via Police Corner and Palace Road
- MG Road to Halasuru vehicles should take Trinity Junction - Swami Vivekananda Road route
- Old Madras Road traffic will be diverted via Anjaneya Junction and Adarsha Junction
Commuters heading towards Shivajinagar, Infantry Road, and Central Street are advised to use internal roads and avoid marathon routes.
No Parking Zones in Bengaluru On Sunday
Authorities have declared strict no parking zones across major central roads, including Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Road, Raj Bhavan Road, Queens Road & Cubbon Road, Infantry Road & Kasturba Road, St. Mark's Road & Museum Road, Assaye Road, Wheeler's Road, Ajanta Road & Kamaraj Road. People should note that vehicles parked in these areas may be towed,

Participants and attendees can use the following designated pick-up and drop points near CTO Junction, Anil Kumble Junction, Siddalingaiah Junction & Cauvery Emporium Junction
Changes in Metro Services Timings
To support commuters, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited has announced early metro services starting from 3:30 AM on marathon day. Authorities have urged the public to use metro and public transport to avoid traffic congestion.
