Bank Holiday Alert: Banks To Remain Closed For 15 Days In August, Check Details

In India, banks will remain closed for 15 days in August 2021, which includes Sunday, Second, and Fourth Saturday and holidays for the occasion of various festivals which bank customers are going to witness in the next month. A total of 8 holidays (apart from second and fourth Saturdays and Sundays) are there in the month of August which differ from state to state, according to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) calendar. Not all banks in India will be closed for 8 days in August but these holidays will vary from state to state and are governed by the RBI's Negotiable Instruments Act. Bank holidays in India are divided into three categories by the Reserve Bank of India: Holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act, Holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act, Real-Time Gross Settlement Holiday, and Banks' Closing of Accounts.
