Bank Holiday Alert: Banks To Remain Closed For 6 Days From Today In These Cities

Apart from national or festive holidays, banks are closed on all Sundays and Second Saturdays, according to the Reserve Bank of India holiday schedule. The Negotiable Instruments Act, Holiday, Real Time Gross Settlement Holiday, and Banks' Closing of Accounts are the three types of bank holidays, according to the RBI. Due to different holidays, including Sunday, Indian banks in some locations will be closed for six days beginning today, July 19. On July 19, banks in Sikkim will be closed due to the festival Guru Rimpoche's Thungkar Tshechu. banks in Jammu and Kochi will be closed due to Bakrid on the next day i.e. July 20, 2021. All Indian Banks will be closed on July 21 for Eid al Azha except the cities Aizawl, Bhubaneswar, Gangtok, Kochi, and Thiruvananthapuram. Because of Ker Puja, banks in Agartala will be closed on July 31. Due to the Fourth Saturday and Sunday, banks will be closed on July 24 and 25 respectively.

  • 22 July 2021 (Thursday)- Eid-Ul-Azha (Banks would be closed in Jammu and Srinagar)
  • 24 July 2021 - Fourth Saturday
  • 25 July 2021 - Sunday
  • 31 July 2021- Saturday (Ker Puja)
