Bank Holiday Alert: Check Complete List of Bank Holidays In August 2021 Here

The Reserve Bank of India categorises bank holidays in India into three categories: Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act, Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act, and Real-Time Gross Settlement Holiday and Banks' Closing of Accounts. Bank Holidays In August 2021

The first bank holiday in August begins on August 1st, which is a Sunday. But apart from the second Saturday, fourth Saturday, and Sunday, there are a total of 8 holidays in the month of August 2021. On 5th August 2021 (Sunday) there will be a holiday due to Sunday and also Independence Day. The Parse New Year (Shahenshahi) will be celebrated on August 16, 2021, resulting in which banks will be closed in Belapur, Mumbai, and Nagpur. There will be a bank holiday on August 19, 2021, in the following locations: Agartala, Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bhopal, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, and Srinagar due to Muharram (Ashoora).

On August 20, 2021, banks would be closed in Bangalore, Chennai, Kochi, and Kerala due to Muharram and the first Onam. Due to the fact that Thiruvonam falls on August 21, 2021, banks in Kochi and Kerala will be closed. There will be a bank holiday in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram on August 23, 2021, due to Sree Narayana Guru Jayanti. There will be a bank holiday on August 28th, as it is the fourth Saturday of the month. Because August 29 falls on a Sunday, banks will be closed in the country. Banks in Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Gangtok, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Lucknow, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Shimla, and Srinagar will be closed on August 30 for Janmashtami (Shravan Vad-8)/Krishna Jayanthi. In Hyderabad, there will be a holiday on August 30, 2021, in celebration of Sri Krishna Ashtami.
