Ram Navami 2025: The upcoming festival in India is Ram Navami 2025, which is observed as the birthday of Lord Rama. The festival is a public holiday all over India, and hence, many schools, offices, and institutions will be closed. Will banks stay closed too?

Bank Holidays 2025:

Ram Navami falls on April 6th of this year, which is Sunday. Hence, all banks in India will be closed due to the default weekend holiday.

In April 2025, there are ten special holidays for banks excluding the second and fourth Saturdays and all Sundays. Bank holidays are decided by RBI. The central bank's holidays are divided into categories like 'Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act' and 'Banks' Closing of Accounts'.

With that, any transactions that would require customers to visit bank branches will not be processable on April 6th. However, ATMs across the country will be open to access.

Bank holidays in India 2025, vary from state-to-state and city-to-city, though there are numerous Public Holidays in the year 2025 which are applicable throughout the country. Some of these holidays include Republic Day (Jan 26), Independence Day (Aug 15) and Gandhi Jayanti (Oct 2). SBI Bank Holidays April 2025:

As per SBI's list, banks will be closed on April 6th due to Ram Navami.

Apart from SBI, other banks like HDFC Bank, Federal Bank, ICICI Bank, IndusInd Bank, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Bank of Baroda, Punjab National Bank, Central Bank of India, Canara Bank, and Union Bank of India among others.

Public Holidays April 2025:

Since it is Sunday, offices and other institutions will be closed on April 6th.

As per India Briefing, in addition to office closures, governments in the state and union territories often observe "dry days," or days when the sale of alcohol is not permitted, on gazetted and state and union territory holidays.
