Bank Holiday Today: Indian scheduled banks will be closed on Monday, March 31, 2025, due to the celebration of Eid Ul Fitr, which falls on the first day of Shawwal. While banks will be opened in cities like Shimla and Aizawl.

Since the cities where banks are closed, customers will not be able to carry out payment or financial transactions.

Payment systems typically include Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS), National Electronic Fund Transfer (NEFT), Cheque Clearing operated by various Bankers' Clearing Houses in the country including the grid-based Cheque Truncation System (CTS) and ECS suite [Electronic Clearing Service (ECS), Regional Electronic Clearing Service (RECS) and National Electronic Clearing Service (NECS)].

Bank holidays in India are decided by RBI. In March month, the bank holidays varied under the Negotiable Instruments Act and Banks' Closing of Accounts category. In total, banks had 8 special holidays in the current month, excluding second and fourth Saturdays, and all Sundays.
