Hence, banks will remain open in cities like Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Gangtok, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Itanagar, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kohima, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji, New Delhi, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Shimla, Srinagar, and Vijayawada.

What Banking Services Will Be Impacted In Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram On August 25?

With digital banking in picture, you can carry out the majority of services online, such as UPI transactions, net and mobile banking, NEFT, RTGS, and IMPS transactions as well. Also, even if banks are closed, ATMs remain open 24/7, so you can use your debit and credit cards without any hassle.

However, transactions that require you to visit bank branches may be impacted due to holidays in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram. These transactions can be deposits or withdrawal of a lump-sum amount; cheque-related branch services, or demand drafts; account opening; applying for loans or fixed deposits; and KYC, among others.

First Onam 2026:

Onam is originally a harvest festival celebrated by Malayalis across the world. The festival is of 10 days and is of great important for people of Kerala. As per Office Holidays report, The festival lasts 10 days with official state holidays on three or four days starting from Onam Eve (Uthradom) to the Third Onam Day. The festival falls during the Malayalam month of Chingam (which usually falls in August or September) and marks the annual homecoming of the mythical King Mahabali who the Malayalees consider as their King.

Milad-i-Sherif 2026:

Milad-i-Sherif is also popularly known as Mawlid or Eid-e-Milad or Milad-e-nabi. This day is of great significance for Muslims across the world as they celebrate the birthday of their Prophet Muhammad.
