There will be Bakrid Bank Holiday in Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jaipur, Jammu, Kochi, Kohima, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji, Patna, Ranchi, Shillong, Shimla, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram, and Vijayawada regions on Thursday, May 28.

Multiple institutions have revised their holiday list for Bakrid 2026. The Department of Personnel and Training stated that Central Government offices in Delhi and New Delhi will remain closed on May 28 instead of May 27. The Board of Intermediate Education moved the affected papers to June 5 and June 12, giving students extra time as the new festival holiday takes effect.
