Bank Holidays: Banks To Remain Closed For 17 Days In November 2021

Banking services have progressed completely online in the digital era for the safety and convenience of customers, conducting a banking service such as opening a deposit account, applying for a loan, opening a Demat or investment account, applying for credit cards or cheque books are all now handled and offered through the digital platforms of Indian banks. What's more, you no longer need to remember bank holidays or check your calendar every day to physically visit your bank branch since you can handle all of your banking operations from the comfort of your own home, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

However, customers who are not tech astute, such as senior citizens or customers from rural areas, are required to visit their bank branch in order to facilitate and wrap up their desired banking service. As a result, it is important to realize about bank holidays of a particular month before visiting a bank branch in order to avoid unwanted woes. The month of October comes to an end, and in the approaching month of November, let me make it clear that there are a total of 11 bank holidays according to the Reserve Bank of India's Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act and apart from that there are a total of 6 holidays which includes Second Saturdays and Sundays.

Bank Holidays In November 2021

1st November 2021: Due to Kannada Rajyostsava/Kut, all Indian banks in Bengaluru and Imphal will be closed on this day.

3rd November 2021: Due to the celebration of Naraka Chaturdashi, all Indian banks in Bengaluru will remain shut on this day.

4th November 2021: For the occasion of Diwali Amavasaya (Laxmi Pujan)/Deepavali/Kali Puja, Indian Banks will remain shut in Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Belapur, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Gangtok, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Panaji, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Shimla, Srinagar and Thiruvananthapuram.

5th November 2021: Owing to Diwali (Bali Pratipada)/Vikram Samvant New Year Day/Govardhan Pooja, Indian banks in Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bengaluru, Dehradun, Gangtok, Jaipur, Kanpur, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Nagpur will be closed on this day.

6th November 2021: Banks in Gangtok, Imphal, Kanpur, Lucknow, and Shimla will remain closed on this day to honor Bhai Duj/Chitragupt Jayanti/Laxmi Puja/Deepawali/Ningol Chakkouba.

7th November 2021: Sunday

10th November 2021: In Patna and Ranchi, Indian banks will be closed on this day to commemorate Chhath Puja/Surya Pashti Dala Chhath (Sayan ardhya).

11th November 2021: For the occasion of Chhath Puja, banks will remain closed in Patna.

12th November 2021: Owing to the Wangala Festival, Indian banks in Shillong will be closed on this day.

13th November 2021: Second Saturday

14th November 2021: Sunday

19th November 2021: Banks will be closed for Guru Nanak Jayanti/Karthika Purnima in Aizawl, Belapur, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Raipur, Ranchi, Shimla, and Srinagar.

21st November 2021: Sunday

22nd November 2021: Banks in Bengaluru will be closed on this day to mark Kanakadasa Jayanthi.

23rd November 2021: Banks in Shillong will be closed on this day to celebrate Seng Kutsnem.

27th November 2021: Fourth Saturday
