Full List Of Bank Holidays from August 17 To August 23
The week opens with no bank holidays on Monday, August 17, or Tuesday, August 18, meaning branches will function as usual on both days across India.
The first bank holiday of the week falls on Wednesday, August 19, when banks in Agartala, Tripura, will be shut on account of the birth anniversary of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur. This is a state-specific bank holiday and does not apply to branches outside Tripura, so customers elsewhere in the country can expect normal banking services on this date.
Thursday, August 20, and Friday, August 21, have no listed holidays, and branches nationwide will be open.
The next bank holiday comes on Saturday, August 22, which is the fourth Saturday of the month. As per the RBI's monthly schedule, banks across India will be closed on the second and fourth Saturdays.
The week closes with Sunday, August 23, the regular weekly off observed by all banks nationwide.
Every other city in India and state follows the same pattern as branches will be open on August 17, 18, 20 and 21, and closed on August 22 and August 23 as part of the nationwide fourth-Saturday and Sunday holidays.
Digital Banking Stays Unaffected
As with every RBI-notified holiday, physical branch operations are the only services affected. UPI transactions, net banking, mobile banking apps, NEFT, RTGS and ATM withdrawals will all continue to work through the closures on August 19, 22 and 23.
