Bank Holidays This Week: Branches Shut for 4 Days In Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai & More; Check Full RBI List
Anyone who is planning to walk into a bank branch this week for a cash deposit, cheque clearance, or passbook update needs to check the calendar first because multiple bank holidays are scheduled this week.

Physical branches of public and private lenders, including SBI, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, and PNB, will be closed for up to four days between September 14 and September 20.
Banks To be Shut on Monday and Tuesday
The week starts with a nationwide bank holiday. On Monday, September 14, branches across Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji, and Vijayawada will stay shut for Ganesh Chaturthi, Varasiddhi Vinayaka Vrata, Vinayagar Chathurthi, and Hartalika.
The next day, Tuesday, September 15, sees a smaller set of cities affected, with Ahmedabad, Bhubaneswar, and Panaji observing holidays for Samvatsari (Chaturthi Paksha), Nuakhai, or the second day of Ganesh Chaturthi.
Bank Holidays On The Other Days of the Week
Later in the week, banks in Shillong will be closed on Friday, September 18, for Unitarian Anniversary Day.
The fourth and final closure of the week falls on Sunday, September 20, when branches across the country observe their standard weekly off, as they do every week.
Digital banking stays unaffected
Despite the holiday at the physical bank branches across the country, digital banking. ATMs, UPI transfers, net banking, and mobile banking apps will keep running normally through the week, even in cities where branches are shut for local holidays.
Bank customers who need urgent transactions can still rely on these channels; it's only over-the-counter services at physical branches that will be paused on the affected days.
