Bank Strike From January 31: Here's All You Need To Know
The strike is primarily as the talks concerning wage revision failed to progress with the IBA. As per the UFBU issued statement, as there was no conclusion reached after meeting with the Chief Labour Commissioner, union did not withdraw their earlier strike notice.
"During the discussion, IBA informed that they would be willing to call for further talks provided our strike is deferred. We did not agree to this proposal and insisted that there should be adequate improvement in their offer before UFBU can consider any deferment of the strike...There was no clear commitment from the IBA to this suggestion," it said.
The wage revision issue has been pending since 2017 and the unions are wanting settlement of wage revision at 20% hike on pay slip components with sufficient loading.
