Bank Strike From March 11 Deferred

As per an AIBEA statement, following some positive developments at the bipartite meet organized in Mumbai 3-day strike called by several bank unions has been deferred. Earlier the strike call was made by the unions constituting the United forum of bank or UFBU, which is the umbrella body of trade unions in the banking industry.

In the meet between the Indian Banks Association (IBA) and unions, there was discussed the issue to raise pay slip cost to 15% as well as demand for 5-day working week among other issues.

In the earlier situation, after talks on wage revision failed with the IBA, bank unions were on strike from January 31 to February 1.
