As per the guidelines of RBI, gazette holidays are observed by banks all through the country and include occasions such as Republic Day (January 26), Independence Day (August 15), and Gandhi Jayanti (October 2), Christmas Day (December 25). Other bank holidays are observed for festivals such as Good Friday, Christmas, Diwali etc.

Today also (May 10, 2021), the bank holiday is being observed in Jammu and Srinagar for Shab-i-Qadr. This is apart from the fourth Saturday (May 22) and remaining 3 Sundays that will be there this month.
