Banks To Remain Closed For 5 Days In The Coming Week of August: Details Inside

The list of bank holidays is classified into three categories by the RBI and they are Holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act, Holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act and Real-Time Gross Settlement Holiday, and Banks Closing of Accounts. Bank holidays are classified as Holidays under Negotiable Instruments Act. As a result, banks will be closed for 5 days across the country in the coming week of the month. On August 15 for Independence Day and Sunday Indian banks will stay closed across the country. In Maharashtra, banks will be closed on August 16 for Parse New Year (Shahenshahi).

Banks will be closed on August 19 for Muharram (Ashoora) which is celebrated in Agartala, Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bhopal, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, and Srinagar. The banks will be closed on August 20 on the occasion of Muharram/First Onam and both these festivals will be observed in Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, and Thiruvananthapuram. Due to Thiruvonam, banks will be closed on August 21, 2021 across Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram.
