BDL Share Price Rises After Rs. 810 Crore Defence Order; Stock Still Down 21% In 2026; Check Next Target Price
Shares of Bharat Dynamics Ltd (BDL) were trading higher on Thursday, September 24, after the defence PSU signed a Rs. 810.79 crore contract with the Ministry of Defence.
At the time of writing, BDL shares were trading at Rs. 1,174.10, up by 1.13% from the previous close of Rs. 1,161.

The contract was signed in New Delhi on September 23 in the presence of Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh, for the supply of 160 Satellite Smart Anti-Airfield Weapons (SAT-SAAW) and associated equipment to the Indian Air Force.
As per the company's exchange filing, "The order comes under the Buy (Indian-IDDM) category, meaning the weapon is indigenously designed, developed and manufactured. Deliveries are scheduled between FY2027-28 and FY2028-29. SAT-SAAW is a DRDO-developed air-to-ground precision-guided glide bomb that can be launched from platforms such as the Jaguar, Hawk and Su-30 MKI. It can neutralise enemy airfields from a long stand-off range, which reduces the risk to pilots and aircraft during missions."
BDL Share Price Performance
Despite today's gains, the stock is currently under pressure over a long period of time. BDL is down 20.75 , on a year-to-date basis and 25.04% over the past one year. The stock is also down 28.9% from its 52-week high of Rs. 1,654 which it hit on September 22, 2025. The company's present market capitalisation is at about Rs. 43,040 crore as of September 24.

On the financial front, BDL reported a strong June quarter, with revenue from operations rising 130% YoY to Rs. 572 crore from Rs. 248 crore, while profit jumped nearly six-fold to Rs. 118.8 crore. Brokerages remain cautious on valuations. HSBC has a Hold rating with a target price of Rs. 1,370, while Jefferies has a Hold with a Rs. 1,280 target.
BDL Share Price Target ahead
SBI Securities in its recent report has allotted a BUY rating for Bharat Dynamics Ltd. (BDL) and set a 12-month target price of Rs. 1,516, implying a potential upside of 28.3% from the current price of Rs. 1,187.
According to SBI Securities "BDL secured around Rs. 6,000 crore worth of orders in FY26, taking its order book to nearly Rs. 21,000 cr, providing strong revenue visibility. The company expects FY27 order inflows to exceed Rs. 20,000 crore, led by the QR-SAM programme, along with potential orders for Astra MK-II and MRSAM systems. Rising international interest in products such as the Akash Weapon System could further support export opportunities."
