Benchmark Indices End Flat; GAIL Top Gainer
After Pfizer's vaccine drug has been approved, Indian indices recovered day's losses and closed flat with Nifty still holding to 13113, up 0.04 percent or 4.7 points, while Sensex was dragged to 44618, down 37 points or 0.08 percent.
Top gainers in trade today have been GAIL, ONGC, Adani Ports, Asian Paints, while losers have been Kotak Mahindra Bank, HDFC twins, Britannia, Shree Cements.
Nifty metal in intra-day trade hit its 52-week high primarily on surge in steel prices. Nifty Bank was however down by over 1 percent.
Also Pfizer stock gained 5% after its vaccine got approved in the UK. Also, Nifty Midcap 100 for the first time ever clocked levels of over 20000.
Meanwhile European indices were trading with gains on the FTSE and losses on DAX and CAC at the time of writing this copy. US Stock futures pointed to a weak opening with losses on all the indices.
