Bengaluru Metro Green Line Disrupted Today: BMRCL Confirms Technical Glitch; Check Namma Metro Services Update
Thousands of office-goers in Bengaluru faced another difficult morning on Thursday after services on the Namma Metro Green Line were disrupted due to a technical issue during peak commuting hours. The latest interruption once again put the spotlight on the reliability of the city's Metro network, which has witnessed multiple service disruptions in recent weeks.

Namma Metro Green Line Services Hit During Morning Rush Hour
The disruption occurred at one of the busiest times of the day, affecting commuters travelling to offices, educational institutions and commercial hubs across Bengaluru.
The Green Line serves several densely populated residential neighbourhoods and business districts, making it one of the city's most important public transport corridors. Even a short disruption during morning peak hours can lead to overcrowded platforms, longer waiting times and delays across connecting Metro stations.
Many commuters turned to buses, auto-rickshaws and cab services after train services slowed, adding further pressure to Bengaluru's already congested road network.
BMRCL Working to Restore Normal Metro Operations
In its update, BMRCL said engineers were attending to the fault on priority and that services would be normalised as soon as possible.
Passengers were advised to factor in additional travel time while planning their journeys. However, the corporation has not yet provided an estimated timeline for complete restoration or explained the exact cause behind the disruption.
Namma Metro's Recent Disruptions: Back-to-Back Interruptions in Bengaluru Metro Service
The lack of detailed information left many commuters uncertain about the extent of the delay and whether alternative travel arrangements would be necessary.
Thursday's incident is the latest in a series of operational issues that have affected Bengaluru Metro services over the past few weeks.
Earlier, operations on the Purple Line were severely disrupted after a power cable malfunction near Cubbon Park Metro Station interrupted train movement. The fault led to hours of delays, forcing passengers to rely on autos, taxis and BMTC buses to complete their journeys.
In another separate incident, Metro services on the Purple Line were delayed after a passenger's chain reportedly became trapped in the gap between a train door, preventing it from closing properly. Although the issue was operational rather than technical, it once again affected train frequency and passenger movement.
