Bengaluru Metro News: Purple Line Services Partially Suspended Today, March 9; Check Alternate Routes.

Bangalore Metro Service Alert: BMRCL( Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited ) has announced a temporary suspension in metro services along a major section of the Purple Line due to track maintenance. On Sunday, March 9, metro operations will be non-functional between Magadi Road and MG Road from 7 AM to 10 AM, affecting several major stations in the routes.

Affected Stations and Metro Service Disruptions

According to BMRCL official advisory, metro services will not be available at crucial stations including Vidhana Soudha, Sir M. Visvesvaraya, Cubbon Park, Central College, Majestic Metro,Dr. B.R. Ambedkar which comes under Purple Line, and Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna Railway Station, during the maintenance window. The advisory also stated that metro QR ticket purchases will be disabled for the duration of the maintenance period.

Alternative Routes During the Metro Purple line Suspension

While a section of the Purple Line will be temporarily closed, metro services on other parts of the route will operate as usual. Trains will continue running between Challaghatta and Magadi Road, as well as from MG Road to Whitefield (Kadugodi), starting at 7 AM. Additionally, the Green Line, connecting Silk Institute to Madavara, will function according to its regular schedule, ensuring a relief for Bangalore commuters.
