Bengaluru-Mumbai Vande Bharat Sleeper To Run Via Anantapur, Guntakal, Raichur, Solapur Route
A new Vande Bharat sleeper train is being planned between KSR Bengaluru and Mumbai CSMT, bringing a faster overnight rail option to one of the country's busiest inter-city routes. The proposed service is expected to bring the journey time down to less than 16 hours, compared with around 24 hours taken by the existing Udyan Express.
The Railway Board is expected to issue the notification for the service soon. The train is likely to be introduced after the first Vande Bharat sleeper service between Guwahati and Howrah. Railways has not yet announced the launch date, so the proposed timetable remains subject to change.
Bengaluru-Mumbai Vande Bharat Sleeper Timings
The tentative schedule places the Bengaluru departure at 10 pm, allowing passengers to board in the evening and travel overnight. The train is expected to reach Mumbai CSMT at 1.50 pm the following day.

For the Mumbai-Bengaluru journey, the proposed departure time is 10.30 pm from Mumbai CSMT, with the train scheduled to reach KSR Bengaluru at 1.50 pm the next day. The proposed service is expected to run six days a week.
Bengaluru-Mumbai Vande Bharat Sleeper Stops
The train is expected to halt at Anantapur, Guntakal, Raichur, Kalaburagi, Solapur and Kalyan. These stations could make the service relevant for passengers travelling between several cities in Karnataka, Maharashtra and parts of Andhra Pradesh.
The planned route also gives the train a wider catchment beyond Bengaluru and Mumbai, particularly for passengers travelling to and from the intermediate cities.
The proposed service would offer a quicker alternative to conventional overnight trains on the Bengaluru-Mumbai corridor. A journey of under 16 hours could make rail travel more competitive for passengers who do not want to take a flight but also want to avoid spending an entire day on a train.
The launch date, final timings and stoppages are yet to be officially confirmed, and the Railway Board's notification will determine the final operating plan.
