The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited has announced some big updates to Bengaluru's Namma Metro Yellow Line train schedule, effective from today, September 10. After the introduction of the 4th train set for operations, commuters on the Yellow Line will now see improved frequency of metros during the day. While the first train timings have also been revised.

Train Frequency Changed
BMRCL yesterday announced that from September 10, Bengaluru Metro trains on the Yellow Line will operate at 19-minute intervals, replacing the earlier 25-minute gap. This major upgrade in the yellow line metro will benefit thousands of daily passengers by reducing waiting time during peak hours, which will eventually reduce the rush in the metro trains.
Yellow line Metro First Train Timings
Apart from the higher frequency upgrade in trains, BMRC also announced that the first metro train service will now begin earlier on weekdays. Here are the new timings according to the press release shared by the company:
Monday to Saturday: First train to begin at 6:00 AM (earlier than the previous 6:30 AM).
Sunday: The first train will continue to start at 7:00 AM.
This big change in Namma Metro yellow line timings is expected to be a major relief for early morning commuters, especially office-goers and students. BMRCL has urged metro passengers to take note of these changes and avail themselves of the improved services starting September 10.
Yellow Line Metro Last Train Timings
BMRCL has confirmed that the last train timings remain unchanged at both junctions. From R.V. Road the last yellow line metro will depart at 11:55 PM. While from Bommasandra, the last metro train will leave the station at 10:42 PM as usual.
About the Bengaluru Namma Metro Yellow Line
The Bengaluru Metro Yellow Line, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 10th, has made life slightly easier for Bengaluru city commuters. This 19.15 km elevated metro line connects R. V. Road to Bommasandra and passes through Electronics City, one of the busiest IT hubs in Bengaluru. With 16 stations along the route, the Yellow Line metro has made travel much faster and more reliable for thousands of office-goers and residents in South Bengaluru.
The project took nearly eight years to complete and cost around Rs. 7,610 crore. Since its launch, the Yellow Line has seen a huge surge in passenger traffic. Currently, the Yellow Line carries around 80,000 daily passengers, and this number is expected to grow as more trains are added. At present, four trains are running on the route, but BMRCL has confirmed that a fifth train will join operations by September 19th this year, followed by a sixth train by late October 2025.
