Bengaluru Power Cut for Next 5 Days: BESCOM Announces No Electricity From Feb 4; Check Areas Affected

Yet another power cut in Bengaluru has been announced but this time it's for five days at stretch. Bengaluru power cut has been scheduled By BESCOM starting February 4.

As per reports by News18 Kannada, the Bengaluru power cut will be in effect daily from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm until February 9, impacting several parts of the city, especially areas around Hebbal and north Bengaluru.

Reason Behind Bengaluru Power Cut

According to BESCOM, the power outage has been scheduled due to urgent maintenance work at the 66/11 KV HBR power station. The maintenance activity is essential to improve power infrastructure and ensure stable electricity supply in the long run.
However, during this period, electricity supply in some areas will remain disrupted for extended hours, which may cause inconvenience to residents, public & private offices, and commercial establishments.

As reported by OneIndia, the planned Bengaluru power cut on February 4 will affect multiple localities, including:

Kavalbyrasandra, L.R. Bande Main Road, Gandhinagar, Chinnanna Layout, Ambedkar Layout
Anwar Layout, Cauvery Nagar, Ambedkar Medical College area, Sultan Palya, Ranka Nagar
Kanaka Nagar, KHB Main Road, Bhuvaneshwari Nagar, D.G.A. Halli, K.J. Halli, K.J. Colony
Adarsha Nagar, V. Nagenahalli, Periyar Nagar, Periyar Circle, Shampura, Kushal Nagar
Modi Road, Modi Garden, Doddanna Nagar, Muniveerappa Layout, Sugar Mandi
Salt Mandi Muneshwara Nagar

Other Locations Affected Due to Maintenance Work from Feb 4-9th

BESCOM has also confirmed power problems in the following areas during the 5 day maintenance window:

Divya Shanti, Govindpur, Karle, Brindavan Nagar, Titan Garage, Bhairavi Apartments, Heggade Nagar, Chandrika Soap Factory, BMTC Depot and surrounding areas

Advisory for Residents

Residents in the affected areas are advised to:

Plan work schedules accordingly to avoid any inconvinience
Charge all electronic devices like mobile phones, laptop, power bank in advance
Use power backup systems where available

BESCOM has also informed that the electricity supply will be restored immediately after completion of the maintenance work each day.
