Residents in several parts of Bengaluru will experience a power outage on Monday, 22 December 2025, as the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) carries out emergency maintenance and infrastructure upgrades. The electricity supply will be interrupted from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM in areas under the Prestige Falcon City substation, among other key feeder lines.

According to officials, the shutdown is being conducted to ensure system reliability and facilitate urgent maintenance ahead of the winter peak. The outage is expected to last six hours and covers several residential, commercial, and industrial areas.

South Bengaluru Power Cut: Surrounding regions of Prestige Falcon City, parts of Kanakapura Road, Doddakallasandra and Yelachenahalli.

West Bengaluru Power Outage: Portions of RR Nagar, Rajajinagar (selected blocks) and Vijayanagar extension.

North/East Bengaluru: Areas near Yelahanka, HAL substation, and pockets of Indiranagar (residual work).

Power Cuts in Bangalore Industrial Hubs: Small industrial clusters in Peenya and Peenya 2nd Stage feeder areas may experience rotational cuts.

Some of the key localities affected include Forum Mall, Prestige Falcon City Apartments, Doddakallasandra, Kanakapura Main Road, Narayan Nagar 3rd Block, Muni Reddy Layout, Jyothi Layout, Gangapatipura, Supraja Nagar, and regions near JSS School. Other affected locations include Konanakunte Government School, Jaraganahalli Park, Gangadhareshwara Temple, Basavaraju Layout, Shanthi Saw Mill, Rajiv Gandhi Road, Sarakki Lake, Sarakki Signal, Nagajuna Premier Apartment, Chunchaghatta Village, and Srinidhi Layout.

BESCOM Safety Advisory For Monday Power Cut

BESCOM has issued guidelines to minimize inconvenience during the outage:

Charge Devices: Ensure mobile phones, laptops, and power banks are fully charged before 10:00 AM.

Water Storage: Fill overhead tanks and storage containers as water pumps will not function during the outage.

Appliance Safety: Switch off high-power appliances such as refrigerators and ACs before the outage to prevent damage from voltage fluctuations during restoration.
