Bengaluru Power Cut On February 7 & February 8: BESCOM Announces 8-Hours Of Power Outage; Affected Areas

The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) has declared power outages in over a dozen locations due to maintenance work. On February 7th alone, more than 20 areas will face power shutdown for approximately 8 hours. While significant locations will also struggle with electricity outage on February 8th for nearly 6 hours.

As per the notifications cited by the local media outlet, Native Planet, residents of Bengaluru are set to experience planned power interruptions on Saturday, 7 February 2026, as part of ongoing maintenance and repair work by the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) and Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd (KPTCL). These scheduled outages are intended to facilitate urgent infrastructure maintenance and are expected to last for several hours in multiple neighbourhoods.

The outage is expected from 10 am to 5 pm.

Power disruption is expected in areas like Basaveshwar Nagar, Vijayanagar, Govindaraj Nagar, Kamakshipalya, RPC Layout, Binni Layout, Prashanth Nagar Hosahalli (Vijayanagar), Service Road (7th to 13th Main, Vijayanagar), First Stage Timmenahalli, Parts of MC Layout, Marenahalli Layout, Parts of Vinayak Layout, PC Industrial Area, Kaveripur, Ranganathpur, KSG Industrial Area, Nanjappa Industrial Estate, Sunnadagodu, Selvam Industrial Estate, Ballayana Kere, Syndicate Bank Colony, and additional blocks of Kaveripur and Nagarabhavi 11th Block.

In another notifications, BESCOM also declared that due to quarterly maintenance work being carried out under the jurisdiction of BESCOM Commercial, Works and Maintenance Department, there will be power disruption on February 7 and February 8 from 10 am to 4 pm.

10 am to 4 pm: Affected Areas

On February 7th, all 11KV emanating from Antarsanahalli, Bellavi, Heggere, Mallasandra, Doddasarangi, Beladhara, Oordigere, CT Kere, Wipro Line, Chelur, Osakere, Hagalavadi, Melekote, Nandihalli, and Baddihalli ares will be impacted.

February 8 Power Cut Affected Areas:

Meanwhile, on February 7, all KV emanating from Nittur, Gubbi, Bidar, G Hosahalli, Doddaguni, Kadaba, Kallur, KG Temple, Ungra, Somalapur, South-Western Railway Lines (Traction), TMTP, Vasanthanarasapura Receiving Centre, and Tumkur sub-stations will be impacted.

Accordingly, BESCOM said, there will be power outages in rural and industrial areas subject to the supplements.

BESCOM - Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited is responsible for Power distribution in Eight districts of Karnataka (Bangalore Urban, Bangalore Rural, Chikkaballapura, Kolar, Davanagere, Tumkur, Chitradurga and Ramanagara). BESCOM covers an area of 41,092 Sq. Kms. with a population of over 207 lakhs.

Notably, BESCOM has encouraged residents to keep the BESCOM helpline (1912) handy for any localized issues after the work was completed.
