Bengaluru Power Cut Today For 8 hrs: BESCOM Issues Shutdown Alert for Multiple Areas on Jan 11; Check Full Lis

Residents across parts of Bengaluru and Ramanagara district will face a planned power cut today, as Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) has announced a scheduled electricity shutdown on January 11, due to quarterly maintenance work.

According to an official statement issued by the Executive Engineer, BESCOM Ramanagara Division on Namma Bengaluru's X handler, the bengaluru power outage is required to carry out maintenance along the 220/66/11 kV Bidadi Receiving Center route. The maintenance work is part of BESCOM's routine infrastructure upkeep in order to ensure reliable power supply and reduce future breakdowns.

As per the notice, the electricity supply will remain disrupted from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on January 11. Consumers living in the affected areas are advised to plan their day accordingly and take necessary precautions.

Shanmangala, Gollarapalya, Kodiyala Karenahalli, Talaguppe, Chinnegowdanadoddi, Chikkakuntanahalli, Anchikuppe, Abbanakuppe, Virshabhavipura, Abbanakuppe Colony, Banandur, Ittamadu, Eagle Button, Kokakola, Jogaradoddi, Chhatra, Bidadi Industrial Area Sector-1 and Sector-2, Bidadi Town, Medanahalli, Byramangala, Kenchagaranahalli, Chowdalli, Kempayyanapalya, Hosur, Bannikuppe, and surrounding areas.

Reason Behind Bengaluru Power Cut Today

BESCOM said the outage is being carried out to facilitate quarterly maintenance of high-voltage transmission infrastructure. Such scheduled shutdowns are necessary to maintain system stability, upgrade equipment, and prevent unplanned power failures in the future.

Residents and businesses in the affected areas of Bengaluru due to the power cut are advised to:
