The deadline to receive a 5% concession to claim a property tax rebate has been increased on full property tax payment for the financial year 2026-27 to May 31, 2026. "For the benefit of citizens within the jurisdiction of the Greater Bengaluru Authority and the five City Municipal Corporations of Bengaluru, the deadline to avail the 5% rebate offered to those who pay their property tax in full for the year 2026-27 has been extended," read a social media post by the Greater Bengaluru Authority on X.

The deadline extension has come as part of a wider push around Bengaluru property tax e-Khata services. Property taxpayers can now download e-Khata using their SAS Property Tax ID. Using the ID through online portal would remove the need for in-person visits in most cases.
What is the SAS Property Tax ID?
The Self-Assessment System (SAS) ID is a unique identification number for Bengaluru properties used by the BBMP to track property tax payments. All five Bengaluru city corporations have enabled online e-Khata download option using SAS Property Tax ID for the benefit of citizens.

Residents can download the Bengaluru property tax e-Khata using the portal https://BBMPeAasthi.karnataka.gov.in.
People can log into the website using their mobile number and then by entering the one-time password.
They are also required to enter their SAS Application Property Tax ID. It is important to authenticate the e-Khata document is available for instant download. This would allow property holders to store or print it for future use.
The current Bengaluru property tax e-Khata documents are issued on an "As-Is-Where-Is" basis, relying on existing municipal records. To make the e-Khata fully usable for transactions at the sub-registrar office, citizens need to update several details online. These include Aadhaar and e-KYC of the owner, the registered sale deed, property details like GPS coordinates and photographs, and the BESCOM ID where it applies.
