Bengaluru Traffic Advisory Issued Before RCB vs KKR Match at Chinnaswamy; Entry Gates & Parking Details Inside

The Bengaluru Traffic Police have issued a fresh traffic advisory ahead of the highly awaited IPL 2025 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore today. Since a massive crowd is expected for this RCB vs KKR IPL match, special traffic instructions will be in effect from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM for smooth traffic movement near the stadium as per the advisory.

Strict Parking Restrictions Around Stadium on May 17

For public safety and smooth traffic flow, the police have assigned multiple no-parking zones across some of the main roads. Major routes where parking is strictly banned include Queens Road, MG Road, Link Road, Raj Bhavan Road, Central Street Post, Cubbon Road, and several others. Violators will have to pay fines, and vehicles might be towed, so it's advised to avoid parking in these restricted areas.

Entry and Exit Points at Chinnaswamy Stadium

The traffic police have issued clear directions regarding stadium entry gates to manage the large crowd of fans, as proper gate management is very important to prevent bottlenecks and overcrowding.

People entering through Gates 1 to 6 should use Cubbon Road; those heading to Gates 7 to 11 must take Link Road via Anil Kumble Circle and BRV Circle.

While spectators entering through Gates 12 to 21 should approach via Queens Road.

Major Road Closures in Bengaluru and Vehicle Restrictions

Traffic congestion during the match hours is very common, so a few routes have been closed, which are as follows:
Cubbon Road between Kamaraja Road and Dickenson Road will remain off-limits for private vehicles, though BMTC buses will be permitted.

Additionally, there will be no parking allowed inside Cubbon Park, on Kings Road near the Press Club, and along Bal Bhavan Road up to Fountain Junction. Motorists are urged to strictly follow these restrictions to avoid penalties and delays.

The Bangalore Traffic Police has encouraged commuters to opt for BMTC buses, Namma Metro, or app-based cab services to reach the stadium. Early departure is recommended as traffic congestion is likely to peak around evening hours before the start of the RCB vs KKR IPL match. Using public transport can help save time and reduce traffic burden in Bengaluru on match day.
