Bengaluru Traffic Alert: New Vehicle Restrictions On 5 Flyovers From September 4; Check Full List And Timings

The Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP) have announced restrictions on the movement of certain categories of vehicles on five major flyovers in the city, due to road safety concerns and for a smoother traffic flow.

The restrictions will affect two-wheelers, passenger auto-rickshaws and different categories of goods vehicles at select locations.

According to a Deccan Herald report, the restrictions will cover the BGS (Sirsi Circle) flyover on Mysuru Road, Peenya flyover, Electronics City Elevated Expressway, the metro double-decker flyover between Silk Board and Ragigudda, and the Ballari Road (airport road) flyover between Sanjeevnagar Cross and Vidyashilp Junction.

The restrictions on the Sirsi Circle, Peenya, double-decker and airport road flyovers will come into force from September 4, while restrictions on the Electronics City Elevated Expressway will be implemented from September 11.

Bengaluru Flyover Restrictions: What Vehicles Are Banned?

1. BGS (Sirsi Circle) Flyover

On the BGS flyover on Mysuru Road. Heavy goods vehicles will be prohibited 24 hours a day. Other goods vehicles, including three-wheeler goods autorickshaws, will be restricted from 7 am to 11 am and 4 pm to 10 pm.

2. Peenya Flyover

On the Peenya flyover passenger auto-rickshaws and three-wheeler goods autorickshaws will be prohibited round the clock. Heavy and medium goods vehicles will face restrictions during the morning and evening peak hours.

3. Electronics City Elevated Expressway

The Electronics City elevated expressway will have some of the most extensive restrictions. Heavy, medium and light goods vehicles will be prohibited between 6 am and 10 pm. Two-wheelers will be prohibited 24 hours. Passenger auto-rickshaws will also be prohibited round the clock. Three-wheeler goods autorickshaws will face a 24-hour ban. These restrictions will come into effect from September 11.

4. Metro Double-Decker Flyover

The double-decker flyover between Silk Board and Ragigudda will see A 24-hour ban on heavy goods vehicles.

5. Ballari Road/Airport Road Flyover

On the elevated corridor between Sanjeevnagar Cross and Vidyashilp Junction. Two-wheelers and auto-rickshaws will be prohibited 24 hours a day. All categories of goods vehicles will be restricted between 6 am and 10 pm.
