The special traffic arrangements will come into effect from the evening of December 31, 2025, and remain in force until the early hours of January 1, 2026, with the primary aim of ensuring public safety, smooth traffic flow and effective crowd control.

Over 10 Lakh Revellers Expected Across the City

Authorities are anticipating a turnout of over 10 lakh people across key celebration hubs in Bengaluru. High-footfall areas such as MG Road, Brigade Road, Indiranagar, and Koramangala, along with roads leading to Mall of Asia and Orion Mall, are expected to witness heavy congestion as people step out to ring in the New Year.
Given the scale of celebrations, police have planned extensive deployment, barricading and vehicle restrictions to prevent overcrowding and traffic snarls.

Complete Vehicle Ban in Core Celebration Zones

The strictest restrictions will be imposed in central business district areas that traditionally attract the largest New Year crowds. According to Bengaluru traffic police, all vehicles except police and emergency services will be barred from entering several roads during peak celebration hours.

From 8 pm on December 31 to 2 am on January 1, vehicle movement will be completely prohibited on:

MG Road
Brigade Road
Church Street
Residency Road
Museum Road
Rest House Road
Residency Cross Road

Parking Ban From 4 pm

In addition to traffic restrictions, a parking ban has been imposed in and around the central celebration zones. Parking will be strictly prohibited from 4 pm on December 31 until 3 am on January 1 on the above roads and adjoining streets.

Vehicle owners have been instructed to remove parked vehicles by 4 pm on December 31. The traffic police have warned that violators will face penalties, and illegally parked vehicles may be towed away to ensure smooth movement and emergency access.

Advisory for Commuters and Revellers

The Bengaluru Traffic Police have urged commuters to avoid private vehicles, use public transport, and plan travel well in advance. Those heading to New Year celebrations in central areas are advised to walk short distances and follow police instructions on the ground. Authorities have also requested citizens to cooperate with traffic personnel, adhere to restrictions, and celebrate responsibly to ensure a safe and hassle-free New Year's Eve in Bengaluru.
