Meanwhile, Bengaluru weather is likely to remain cold with minimal change in temperature till Christmas.

There has been a significant decline in temperature in Bengaluru and other Karnataka districts over the past week due to a cold wave-like situation. While Bengaluru residents are enjoying misty mornings and winter dips during the night, temperature remains significantly low in the northern interior Karnataka (NIK) regions like Bidar. Bengaluru's weather is likely to remain misty with no major change in minimum and maximum temperatures during the week. The minimum and maximum temperatures in Bengaluru are likely to be 15 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, December 24, as indicated by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

There can be a slight increase in temperature range as the minimum and maximum temperatures in Bengaluru can be 16 degree and 27 degree Celsius on Christmas, ie Thursday, December 25. There could be marginal surge in maximum temperature in Bengaluru in the coming days as well.

Karnataka Weather Alert: How Long Will Cold-Wave Like Conditions Persist?

There is unlikely to be any major change in the weather conditions across Karnataka this week. There will be cold-wave like conditions over Bidar of North Karnataka during the rest of the week as well.

On Tuesday, the minimum temperatures were in the range of "9.0 - 11.8°C over Bidar, Vijayapura, Dharwad, Gadag & Haveri of North Interior Karnataka and Hassan, Mandya & Chintamani of South Interior Karnataka. 11.9 -15.2°C over Belagavi Airport, Kalaburgi, Raichur & Koppal of North Interior Karnataka and Agumbe AWS, Bengaluru, HAL AP ,Bengaluru KIAL AP, Bengaluru City, Chitradurga, Davangere, Mysuru & Shivamogga of South Interior Karnataka.19.6-21.2°C over Honnavar, Karwar, Mangalore and Shakthinagar of Coastal Karnataka," as per the IMD report.

The present cold wave in Karnataka marks one of the season's harshest spells, with northern and southern interior districts experiencing marked drops in minimum temperatures. While IMD expects no significant change along the coastal areas, the combination of fog, chill and reduced visibility in Bengaluru and surrounding regions continues to affect daily routines and travel.

There was appreciably below normal temperature over Gadag, Haveri, Raichur and Vijayapura of North Interior Karnataka and Chintamani, Mysuru & Mandya of South Interior Karnataka on Tuesday. Dry weather is likely to prevail across north interior Karnataka, coastal Karnataka, and south Interior Karnataka, over the next four to five days.
